Classes Available

The Diamonds Gymnastic Club was founded in 2003 to promote and develop gymnastics for all, lead by fully qualified and CRB checked coaches. Classes are available for the Pre-School child right through to Adults, Beginners to International Performer - we have activities for you.

Although gymnastics is a physical activity, it promotes and develops many other aspects of young people's lives. Social and personal skills are enhanced and pupils are encouraged to gain an understanding about their well-being and the society in which they live.

We aim to help young people interact with others through their involvement in Diamonds. We hope the thrill and excitement will stay with our members throughout their lives.

As a member of Diamonds all gymnasts are insured with the British Gymnastics Association and all classes are led by fully qualified and checked CRB checked coaches.

Pre School (Foundation Squad)

These sessions are designed initially for children who are crawling to 2 years old. The sessions then develope into others which are designed for children from the ages of 2 to 3. This follows a very similar theme to the younger sessions that adults take and active part in the child's physical development through the use of a structured and themed approach.

Finally these finish in sessions specifically designed for children from the age 3+ to school age. Again this follows a similar theme to that of the younger sessions but develops the skills further in a structured format and involves interpreting stories through shape, gymnastics and dance. Adults are again involved in this quality time for their rapidly developing youngster.

Foundation Squads / General Gym

Floor, vault, trampette - ideal for those starting out. One hour classes for school age children. Activities include work on basic skills for floor and vault. Classes are for complete beginners up to advanced recreational levels and are run by a team of fully qualified BG coaches at a number of venues around Calderdale.

Opportunities are available to take part in the Diamonds Gymnastic Award schemes, displays and local competitions. Members are eligible to receive discount on Diamonds G.C. party's, merchandise and events.

Participation Classes

These are activities where pupils are encouraged to develop their Gymnastic skills further in one of the following areas: Sports Acro, Display, Team Gym, Trampolining, Floor and Vault, Girls 4 Piece & Boys 6 Piece.

Each class meet once a week for two hours. Individuals may take more than one class.

Performance Class

Performance classes for talented gymnasts in all areas. Classes are on invitation only, but access can be applied for through discussion with section coach or attendance at trial sessions.

Classes meet several times each week throughout the year. Gymnasts compete at regional and national events and so training is intense and requires considerable commitment.

Senior Class
Small groups or individuals who aspire to compete at national and international levels requiring specialised training programmes.
